Bridgestone Donates RMB 3 Million to Support Efforts Against COVID-19

Shanghai, China (March 10, 2020) — Bridgestone Corporation and Bridgestone (China) Investment Co., Ltd. announced a joint donation of RMB 3 million (about US $430,000) to China Charity Federation and other provincial charity organizations to assist with COVID-19 relief and recovery efforts in China.

The donation will go towards charity organizations for the supply of medical equipment for hospitals and other recovery activities across the nation. The funds will also provide direct support to healthcare staff on the frontline of this crisis.

“Guided by Bridgestone’s global CSR commitment ‘Our Way to Serve’, we’re committed to supporting our local communities in their efforts against COVID-19. In addition, we extend our highest appreciation to all healthcare staff and volunteers who are working tirelessly during this period,” said Yasuhiro Morita, President & CEO of Bridgestone China.

“We would also like to express our deepest sympathy to those who have been affected by COVID-19, especially those who have lost family members and loved ones”, Mr. Morita added.

Apart from this donation, Bridgestone has been closely monitoring the situation and has undertaken a series of business continuity initiatives to ensure employees’ safety and well-being.
