Kyojocup

The Kyojo Cup is Japan’s premier all-female racing championship, created to develop and showcase female racing talent in a professional single-seater environment. Founded in 2017 by legendary Japanese racing driver Masanori Sekiya, the series has steadily evolved from a grassroots competition into one of Asia’s most progressive motorsport platforms.

Competition Format

The modern KYOJO CUP race weekend follows a two-race format designed to maximise both competitiveness and driver development. Each round typically consists of:

practice sessions

>

Qualifying

>

Sprint Race (Saturday)

>

Feature / Final Race (Sunday)

>

The Sprint Race awards points to the top eight finishers, while the Final Race carries a larger points allocation for the top ten drivers. Additional points are also awarded for qualifying performance.

Cars

All drivers compete in the same hybrid-powered KC-MG01 Formula car developed by KCMG, ensuring the focus remains firmly on driver skill and racecraft.

Tyre Technologies

The KYOJO CUP uses control tyres supplied by Bridgestone.

As the sole tyre supplier, Bridgestone plays a crucial role in ensuring competitive parity while simultaneously supporting the championship’s technical progression into hybrid Formula racing.

The tyre programme also serves as an important testbed for future sustainable motorsport technologies and compound development.

SUSTAINABILITY

KYOJO CUP’s hybrid Formula cars represent a major step towards sustainable motorsports, demonstrating how racing can continue to evolve responsibly while remaining exciting and highly competitive.
